When people work together to achieve a common goal, a large number of factors can determine success or failure. Teams can achieve unimagined success, as people in pursuit of a common goal develop certain team dynamics, which can be focused on and used to the group’s advantage. A group which has learned to use its team dynamics can outperform a group of highly qualified individual players. This model teaches you how to deploy individual team members efficiently in order to exploit the full potential of the group.

Learning Targets

  • Participants will become acquainted with the success factors in teamwork and learn how to use them.
  • Participants will get to know the Team Dynamics Model and how to use it.
  • They will learn to systematically improve the performance of a team.
  • They will get to know the various ways team members contribute and learn how to apply this to make cooperation and hence project work more effective.
  • Participants will learn a problemsolving process which enables them to proactively and systematically solve problems and develop processes.

Contents

The seminar is aimed at discovering the character and efficiency of teams and at learning how to form teams successfully.

1. Basics for a strong team

  • Getting to know and applying team dynamics
  • From dependency to integration – means of cooperation
  • Performance and culture of your team

2. Using contributions in the team

  • Recognizing your own contribution in the team dynamics profile
  • Understanding others on the team
  • Clarifying interfaces and cooperation on the team

3. Process competence on the team

  • The PEPE process – solving problems proactively
  • My contribution to problem-solving
  • Systematically developing own processes and workflows

Methods

Exercises and group work that have proven effective in practice, team exercises, self-study, self-reflection and partner exercises. Presentations will be given to introduce and explain the theory and background of the model. Facilitative methods will be used to demonstrate the PEPE process.
